The swab with disinfectant neutralizers is used for microbiological purity testing according to the ISO 18593:2018 standard. Disinfectant neutralizers present in the solution make it possible to evaluate the efficiency of the disinfection procedure in locations with residues of disinfectants.


In the category of ready-to-use microbiological tests, our most in-demand products are several types of print plates, of which SANIBACT and UROBACT are at the very top, each for its respective purpose.

SANIBACT is used to check the microbiological purity of hands, work surfaces, products and production premises. In addition to public healthcare institutes, veterinary institutes, control laboratories and sanitary inspections, this product is also used by food companies for internal control of their labs. Due to its user-friendliness and quickly obtained results, SANIBACT is an ideal product for microbiological control under all current standards.

UROBACT is used to screen or quickly diagnose urinary infections in outpatient clinics and healthcare centers, laboratories or institutes, and is practical because it does not require a great deal of manipulation, the shipping of potentially infectious biological material for further processing or waiting for results. Therefore, it is not only practical and safe, but also reduces the price of the assessment and the waiting time, allowing for quicker and more accurate treatment. The new type of chromogenic media on Urobact even makes it possible to accurately differentiate the causal agent of the urinary infection, if present.


SANIBACT PLATES OR SLIDES are diagnostic tools composed of a sterilely packed plastic tube containing a plate with two types of growth media to quickly detect the purity of any work surface, dishes and other work premises, and in particular to control hospitality venues and kitchens for food preparation, manufacturing facilities in the food industry, as well as for microbiological purity of hands. Purity is controlled by a print on the Sanibact plate, separating the bacteria from the surface, after which their presence is read out following incubation at 37 °C over 24 hours.

The SANIBACT PLATE – SLIDE’s mechanism of action consists of one side of the plate containing a special growth medium for the multiplication of aerobic mesophilic bacteria, which account for the majority of human pathogens, e.g. group D Streptococcus or Staphylococcus Aureus. The other side of the plate contains a growth medium for the multiplication of bacteria from the Enterobacteriacea family, such as Escherichia coli, Salmonella, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and others.

UROBACT PLATES OR SLIDES serve to diagnose infectious processes in the urinary tract, with the basic difference that agars are poured as growth media onto the plates-slides and diagnose the presence of bacteria, especially in the patient’s urine.

Urobact slides work by having a growth medium on one side to determine (diagnose) the total bacterial count per millimeter of urine, based on the density of the formed colonies. The other side has a special growth medium for direct reading and identification of pathogenic bacteria (all according to established tables).

We can also easily adapt to your needs and to the market, and based on individual customers’ requirements change the type of medium on the slides, as well as supply all the latest types of chromogenic media that enable easy and quick reading and diagnosis of infectious agents (microorganisms recognizable by their specific color).

All of this allows for quicker treatment and significant savings in terms of time and money. In a large number of cases there is no need to send or further handle potentially infectious clinical or biological samples, as was done until recently. The shipping of samples to external laboratories is a much more expensive, complicated and time-consuming diagnostic method, which we are all familiar with and which we now wish to simplify and make more affordable.

HEMOSEPT AE+AN – Liquid growth medium in a single vial intended for the multiplication of bacterial pathogenic species in aerobic, anaerobic and microaerophilic conditions. This unique blood culture is our innovation, developed on the basis of years of research and the tradition of our production, representing Komed’s intellectual property.

Our basic objective was to produce an efficient, but considerably more affordable blood culture which will not and cannot be inferior to or less reliable than the classic dual-component blood culture. Professional cooperation in Komed and long-term professional experience in this area have resulted in the development of a unique and efficient blood culture that can support in a single vial the growth of both aerobic and anaerobic bacteria, which usually requires two vials.

This makes the entire test considerably more affordable, and the patient does not have to give a large amount of blood, which is very important for patients in critical condition.
